Christian Discipleship Studies Teachers - Christ

Early Christian Discipleship Studies by Raboni Yeshua of Nazareth

Christian Discipleship Studies started with Christ - Raboni Yeshua of Nazareth. The first Christian Discipleship Studies started when Christ called a few weary, sweaty, smelly fishermen to follow Him. They were exhausted and frustrated from fishing all night and catching nothing.

Can you imagine the thoughts that must have been going through their minds just before Christ showed up? I'm sure their minds would have been in turmoil about how they were going to pay their taxes, pay their bills, and feed themselves and their families.

Are you exhausted from trying to provide for yourself and your family?
Perhaps it is time to "Cast your net on the other side".
Perhaps you are being called to be a "fisher of men".

How would you feel if you received an amazing miracle of provision like God gave those fishermen through Christ that day?

Would you be willing to leave everything behind to follow Jesus?

When we look at the Greek manuscripts and translations of the Greek manuscripts, we can gain some insights into not only the lessons that Jesus taught but also the way He taught the lessons.

One of the most important lessons I believe Christ taught was to fully rely on God and not to focus on the cares of this world. We see this time and time again in lesson after lesson Christ presented to His disciples. We need to lessen our attachment to the things of this world and focus on God.

Fully Relying on God

The Greek and Hebrew writings are full of evidence that people can fully rely on God. Jesus taught His disciples to fully rely on God in many ways. Some of the scriptures that spring to mind about Christ's lessons about fully relying on God include:
  • The miracles of the loaves and fishes.
  • Christ sending His disciples to get a coin from a fish's mouth to pay His taxes.
  • Christ teaching about how Our  Father will provide food and clothing for us.
  • Christ telling His disciples to travel light.

What are some of the teachings of Christ that stand out for you?

Learning to Fully Rely on God

This past year has been quite an experience for me. In October 2020 I lost my home and job in the same day. To say it has been a tough year might be putting it mildly. While staying in parks, roaming the streets at night and staying in a homeless shelter; I have had some amazing opportunities along this path to meet with people living in parks, roaming the streets at night and living in homeless shelters. I am now what the media call "a person with lived experience".

I can honestly say, "God provides."
I have had some crazy amazing miracles of provision along the way.

I have also had many things taken from me in weird ways. I have learned that sometimes not having things is protection. Sometimes not having things helps us lean even closer to God. Sometimes not having things also gives others the opportunity to shine and to be the people God is calling them to be.

Therefore, I can honestly also say, "I am grateful for each and every part of this journey in learning to fully rely on God."

Here is the song that is playing on my internal radio.

God Will Take Care of You

Be not discouraged whatever befall,
God will take care of you,
Be not discouraged whatever befall,
God will take care of you,

Chorus
God will take care of you,
Through ev'ry day,
O'er all the way!
God will take care of you,
God will take care of you!

Thanks for stopping in!
